Week 6, Thing 15 Library 2.0

Upon reading the perspectives about Library 2.0, the idea of libraries being in a dramatic state of transition comes to mind. The expectations and methods of delivering information to patrons will continue to rapidly grow and change along with the continual changes in technology. It is my hope that the librarians of the near future will be adequately equipped to help guide and assist patrons with these new ways of dispersing information without losing the sense of place and personal connections that many patrons feel to their respective library and librarians. It is impossible to deny that great changes will be a major component of all things "library" as we now know them. The most positive aspect is that numerous people associated with the library have always been committed to being life-long learners and embrace new knowledge with a sparkle in their eye. I'm hopeful that by working together step-by-step and integrating the new ideas in a realistic manner that the libraries of the future will continue to benefit patrons of all ages.
